Softball rankings

1. San Benito: It may be a new direction in the dugout, but the course is the same.
2. Notre Dame: Reigning CCS DIII champions have no seniors in the starting lineup.
3. Carmel: Has the right pieces to make a run at its first league title in 11 years.
4. North Salinas: You can draw straws in placement of the next seven teams.
5. Monterey: Has a win over Christopher, but a loss to North Salinas in league play.
6. Christopher: Starting to regain some momentum with three straight wins.
7. Santa Catalina: Five-time MTAL champions are tied at the top.
8. Stevenson: The hope is the second half will be the redemption tour.
9. Watsonville: Ignore the non-league record. The Wildcatz are undefeated in the Pacific.
10. Alvarez: Three wins away from breaking the single season school record for wins.
 On the bubble: Pacific Grove, Seaside, Soledad, Gilroy.
