North Salinas-Notre Dame softball

While the Spirits appear close to regaining the form that has seen them capture three consecutive Central Coast Section Division III titles, North Salinas has hit a snag in its season.
The Vikings have dropped two straight for the first time all year going into their meeting at Notre Dame today, falling two games off the pace in the Gabilan Division.
I wouldn't start making changes if I was North Salinas. Both of its losses in league play have been by one run.
But this is a big week for the Vikings if they have title aspirations dancing in their heads. After Notre Dame, they visit unbeaten San Benito on Thursday.
Serena Castaneda and Alyssa Allen have continued to slap the ball around the field for the Vikings, with Allen have ripped four homers and Castaneda three.
Micaela Leal has been consistent in the circle for North Salinas, as has the Spirits Vanessa Gonzalez, who won 24 games last year as a freshman.
Holdover Aly Gomonet, one of six starters back from last years title team for Notre Dame, leads the team in hits while Lauren Pullara and sophomore Kaeli Bush have combined for 25 RBI.
