North Sainas-Palma track

There is some significance to this meet.
With the league finals two weeks off, both the Vikings and Palma do not want to have two losses going into the finals.
The reigning five-time league champion Chieftains and North Salinas both suffered setbacks on the road to San Benito.
Each team has also held key athletes out this spring because of nagging injuries. Time is running out in preparation for a title run.
Raul Barraza -- a CCS finalist last year in the 800, has been a horse this spring for North Salinas and will likely double and run the 400 and 800.
He'll be challenged in the 400 as Kevin Telford has the fastest time in the Gabilan Division at 51.41, a tenth of a second faster than Bararza.
Both teams match up well against each other in the throws and pole vault. North Salinas could assert itself in the distance races while both teams may trade points in the hurdle events.
Palma has to score heavily in the field, starting with Jack Fling in high jump. Defending league triple jump champion Clemente Villarreal and the Vikings Isaiah Guerra will battle in the vertical jumps.
I don't know if Palma wants this meet coming down to the 1,600 relay.
