Carmel-Pacific Grove softball

One haunting loss is keeping Carmel form potential perfection in the Mission Trail Athletic League.
Yet, redemption or the natural rivalry isn't all that's on the Padres minds tonight when they visit Pacific Grove.
An 11-year league title drought should be the focal point for Carmel, who sits in first place by one game with six remaining.
The Padres are 9-1 since that 5-1 setback, with the one loss coming in a non-league game. They have outscored five MTAL opponents 45-4 since the loss to Pacific Grove.
The lineup is stacked with Danielle Caoili, Rachael Carroll and Ashlyn Davis all having 20 or more hits on the season. Caoili is chasing the triple crown, leading the team in homers and RBI.
She's also formed a dynamic rotation in the circle that includes freshman Jessica Pavloff.
The Breakers are just 2-3 in the MTAL after beating Carmel. Danielle Pasquariello and Christina Lucido have been run producers while Lauren Coppla is among the team leaders in hits.
