Alvarez baseball

It has been a quite run of success of late for the Eagles in the Pacific Division.
Ignore the 1-6 non-league record or 0-2-1 league start. Alvarez is 7-1 in its last eight games to put itself in playoff contention after a recent four game winning streak.
Pitching has carried Alvarez of late as an unheralded staff has allowed just four earned runs in its last four games.
Clutch hitting was critical last week in a pair of nailbitting wins over Alisal.
While only one team is a lock out of the Pacific Division to make the playoffs, Alvarez reached the postseason two years with a 13-5 league record.
It would need to go 5-2 down the stretch. That would include erasing the tie game it still has to finish with North County on Wednesday.
Either way Alvarez has already surpassed last year's win total and likely this year's expectations.
