State Northern California Division IV Tournament
Wednesday's game
No. 11 Pacific Grove (23-4) vs. No. 6 Mission, San Francisco (26-6) at Kezar Pavilion, 6 p.m.
Apparently a Central Coast Section Division IV title doesn't carry much weight as the Breakers are on the road for their Northern California opener.
Champions of the San Francisco Section, the Bears are 11-0 at home this year. But just two of those games were played at Kezar Pavilion.
Mission is averaging nearly 79 points a game with guard Frank Hall dropping in 14.2 points, leading the team with 49 3-point goals.
The Breakers defense allowed just 39 points a game this season, holding Carmel to 34 points in the CCS Division IV title game.
Reigning two-time MTAL Most Valuable Player Brad Sendell has averaged 23 points a game in the playoff for Pacific Grove, up five points from his regular season totals.
Chip Wagner and Zack Miller have been a nice combination in the paint, averaging over 17 points a game between them while Sam Fenstermaker has been a defensive demon.
The Breakers have rattled off seven straight wins. Two of their four losses this year are to teams that are in the DIV tournament in Half Moon Bay and Palma.
