Notre Dame soccer

 From worst to first.
 From winless to undefeated.
That's what the equity league is capable of doing for programs.
Yet, outside of a division change, the biggest difference for a resurgent Spirits squad is the ability to score goals.
Last year Notre Dame was shutout eight times. This winter, it has outscored opponents 18-4 in the Pacific Division in getting off to a 7-0 start.
It doesn't hurt having one of the top goalies in the county in Ali Maestri, who has four shutouts and 128 saves this year, including 14 in the Spirits last win.
Four players have scored four or more goals for the Spirits, including Arianna Vega's team leading five while McKenna Blean and Allison Gomez share the team lead in assists.
A second Pacific Division title in three years likely means a return trip back to the Gabilan Division next season. This time the Spirits will be a little more seasoned.
