Notre Dame-Alisal girls hoops

Five straight wins have seen the defending champion Spirits close to within one game of first place Alisal going into tonight's Pacific Division battle in 'The House of Thrills'.
In fact, Notre Dame's last loss was a 54-51 decision to Alisal on Jan. 14.
The Trojans dynamic duo of Lydia Garcia and Karely Apodaca are both averaging over 20 points a game in the Pacific Division -- or nearly 80 percent of the teams offense.
Alisal -- which had its seven game winning streak halted by Watsonville five days ago -- is 6-0 in Pacific Division when holding teams under 40 points, 1-2 when it doesn't.
Katie Zernicke has been a mark of stability all season for Notre Dame, leading the team in scoring. Yet, production of late has come from Haleh Matinrad, Kate Lathos and Aly Gomment.
During its five game winning streak, Notre Dame's defense has held opponents to an average of 30 points a game.
