The former Notre Dame point guard is in her eighth season playing professional basketball overseas for the MLP BasCats USC Heidelberg Club in Germany.
Benavente leads the team in assists at 2.3 a game and is second in steals at 1.6. The 31-year-old is averaging 8.8 points and 3.8 rebounds a game, and is shooting 84 percent from the free throw line.
Benavente was a four-year starting guard at Notre Dame, leading them to a CCS Division IV title in 2002, earning league Most Valuable Player honors, before starting at St. Mary's in Moraga.
