Two years removed from a school record 15 win season and a playoff spot, the Toreadores will face a rejuvenated Seaside squad today in a battle for supremacy in the Pacific Division.
Jennings has helped resurrected the Spartans program, erasing a 1-5-1 preseason by jumping out to a 1-0-2 Pacific Division start, while Monterey is unbeaten in four league matches.
Both teams have relied on defense as each has allowed just one goal in league play. Seaside goalie Franco Contreras has 43 saves and two shutouts this year.
Three year starter Louis Sanchez has been the catalyst for the Toreadores attack with six goals and four assists, having had a hand in 10 of the teams 19 goals this season.
Eleven of Monterey's 19 goals this season have come in the second half. The Spartans have struggled in the second half, having been outscored 14-5 in 10 overall games.
