7. Gilroy: I'm not sure a winless season warranted a return to the Gabilan.
Pacific Division
1. North County: Four of its top six scorers from last year are back.
2. Alvarez: Has the parts to make a title run this season.
3. Notre Dame: The defending champions got better as the preseason progressed.
4. Alisal: Non-league record was a little misleading.
5. Watsonville: Your darkhouse in the Pacific Division this season.
6. Pajaro Valley: Five sophomores made this program competitive last year.
7. Monterey: It takes time in rebuilding a program.
Mission Trail Athletic League
1. Carmel: Don't be mislead by its early non-league struggles.
2. Stevenson: Ambreece Gaskins was the best player in the county in the preseason.
3. Greenfield: A defensive minded unit that will keep games close.
4. King City: Are the Mustangs ready to make a playoff push?
5. Pacific Grove: Struggled offensively in non-league play.
6. Santa Catalina: The Cougars are in a transitional phase.
7. Gonzales: Spent the non-league season trying to find the right combinations.
8. Soledad: Looking to snap a nine-game losing streak in MTAL play.
