Joint practices will be conducted this week in preparation for the 31st Monterey County Prep All-Star football game on Friday at 7 p.m. at Rabobank Stadium.
Alvarez head coach David Bottom will guide one side with Salinas coach Steve Goodbody taking command of the other.
Sixteen of the 17 teams in Monterey County will be represented, along with senior players from San Benito, Anzar, Monte Vista, Christopher and Gilroy.
Thirteen players from The Herald's All-County team will take part, including Offensive Player of the Year Jack Richardson of Palma and Defensive Player of the Year Kyle Martorella of Salinas.
Three-time 1,000 yard running back Akili Jones of Monterey is slated to take part along with Salinas record setting quarterback Matt Castaneda.
Gabilan Division Offensive Lineman of the Year Aldo Flores of Alvarez will be on the field along with Mission Trail Athletic League Defensive Player of the Year Enrique Pacheco of Soledad.
