St. John's-Stevenson boys hoops

 As part of its week long visit to California, St. John's of Hamilton, New Zealand will face Stevenson tonight in what will likely be an up tempo, fast pace battle.
 St. John's, who is on summer vacation in New Zealand, took part in the Alisal Invitational last week, winning one game.
 The Pirates, who closed last season by going 12-2 to reach the State Nor Cal Division V playoffs, put up 70 points in their season opening win without their best player.
 As young as Stevenson is, the core is back from last year's squad, including Parker Olin, Kenny Pich and Will Lansbury.
 While there is an inside presence with 6-foot-4 sophomore Kevin Cook, this is a unit that likes to fire from the perimeter, nailing six 3-point goals in their opener.
