Seaside-Alvarez girls hoops

Statement games are rare in the second week of the season.
Yet, two teams with higher expectations this winter will test the waters tonight when Seaside travels to Alvarez in a battle of unbeatens.
Behind returning all league guard Mariel Tuazon and freshman sensation Jordan Olivares, Seaside is off to a 3-0 start.
Tuazon is averaging 21 points a game -- including a season high 26 points -- for the Spartans, while Olivares has put together a pair of double digit efforts in the scoring column.
Alvarez has a dynamic scoring threat in its own in returning all-league guard Deaysia Gamble, who is also averaging 21 points a game through the teams first two games.
Both teams are up tempo squads that like to create points off their defense. Tuazon had six steals in her last game. JJ Chaboya is another option for the Eagles.
