Carmel-Seaside girls hoops

A resurgent Seaside squad has gotten off to a 4-0 start this year behind freshman sensation Jordan Olivares, who is averaging over 17 points a game.
The defending Mission Trail Athletic League champion Padres have struggled out the gates at 2-4, falling to two reigning league champions in the process.
Carmel, who lost three starters to graduation, is still a title contender in the MTAL behind reigning league Most Valuable Player Holly Whitaker, who didn't play in two of those losses.
Whitaker is averaging 15 points a game in four games this season. Teammate Quinn Bernal has had an impact this season as well as holdover Ashlyn Davis.
What has made Olivares' transition in high school smoother is the return of senior all-league guard Marille Tuazon, who hopes to be back from an injury tonight.
