Central Coast Section Division IV playoffs
No. 5 Soledad (8-2) at No. 4 Silver Creek (9-1), 7 p.m.
With the programs first league title, and a school record for wins, all that's missing from a magical season for the Aztecs is a postseason win.
Both Soledad and the Raiders come into the playoffs riding six game winning streaks. Both have not lost since their league openers on Oct. 2.
Runner-ups in the Santa Teresa Athletic League to Lincoln, Silver Creek has allowed just 109 points in 10 games.
Behind Enrique Pacheco's 115 tackles and Andrew Hernandez's 11 sacks, Soledad has allowed just 12 points a game this year, holding four teams without an offensive touchdown.
The Aztecs defense has to contain tailback Dontye James, who has rushed for 2,072 yards, scoring 17 touchdowns this year for Silver Creek.
Jones is coming off a 319 yard effort on 21 carries last week against Westmont. He has rushed for over 200 yards four times and has gone over the century mark in all 10 games.
Soledad tailback Emmanuel Ortega has quietly rushed for 914 yards this year while Robert Lopez has 30 catches and Kevin Lemus 25 receptions.
Lopez filled in at quarterback last week for Eric Martinez, who was injured. The expectation is he will play this week for the Aztecs.
