Santa Catalina-Branson volleyball

Saturday's match
CIF State Northern California Division V playoffs
No. 5 Santa Catalina (25-4) vs. No. 1 Branson, Ross (27-9) at College of Marin, 7 p.m.
The four-time State Division V champions have made six straight CIF finals appearances, beating Notre Dame in last year's Northern California finals.
The North Coast Section champion Bulls are 42-2 over the last six years in the postseason, with the two losses coming in the state finals.
Santa Catalina came out and played with a sense of urgency in sweeping Vacaville Christian on the road Wednesday -- its first ever Northern California postseason win.
The Mission Trail Athletic League champion Cougars have lost four matches all season -- two to CCS Division V champion Notre Dame.
Branson has a lot of fire at the net, as four players have over 150 kills, including 6-foot-3 Grace Roberts-Burbanks, who has 325.
Five players stand above 6-feet for the Bulls, with three others a shade under 5-11, including 6-1 senior Maddy Schoenberg, who has 245 kills.
Santa Catalina will have to get touches at the net to slow this assault down, starting with freshman Maria Santos, sophomore McKinley Fox, Saige Madden and senior Lauren Garcia.
Oliva and Tatumn Satow will work the ball back to the net. The Cougars can't overpower Branson in the front row, so they will have to be creative in their offensive schemes.
