Contra Costa-Hartnell football

Saturday's game
Living Breath Foundation Bowl
Contra Costa (9-1) vs. Hartnell (9-1) at Rabobank, 1 p.m.
This is becoming an annual battle as the two teams will meet for the third straight year in the Living Breath Foundation Bowl.
The Panthers posted a 37-26 win in 2013 before Contra Costa got a measure of redemption last year with a 34-27 decision.
Co champions of the American Pacific 7 Conference, Contra Costa's only loss this fall came on Oct. 31 in a 34-21 setback to co-champion Shasta.
It defeated three American Golden Coast Conference teams this season, including conference champ West Hills 24-3 -- the team that ended Hartnell's run of four straight conference titles.
Quarterback Cameron Burston has thrown for 1,875 yards and 26 touchdowns for Contra Costa, with just two interceptions in 212 attempts.
Eight different receivers have at least one touchdown catch, with Frank Stephens having caught nine touchdown passes.
American Golden Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year Justyn Gutierrez is 65 yards shy of 3,000 passing yards for Hartnell.
The former North Salinas quarterback has tossed 28 touchdown passes this year -- 22 of which have gone to either Ronnie Turner or Eppy Henrigues.
Henrigues has a team high 66 catches for the Panthers while Turner -- who has missed the last three games with a shoulder injury -- has 49 catches.
Having Marcus Washington back at tailback this week will help the running and passing game. The one-time Palma product has rushed for 480 yards in seven games and has 19 catches.
Coming off the edge on defense for the Panthers is Reggie McGee, who is fifth in the state in sacks with 13.
Justin Pleasont has been a beast in the trenches for the Hartnell defense with a team high 64 tackles, while Tyreke Richburg has four interceptions.
Defensively, Contra Costa has forced 19 turnovers this year and is plus three in turnover ratio. The Panthers have recorded 18 turnovers, but are minus one in turnover ratio.
