Friday's game
North County (2-4) vs. Pajaro Valley (3-3) at Cabrillo College, 7:30 p.m.
Who projected the Condors to be one of only two unbeaten teams left in the Pacific Division before the start of league play?
None of us.
An 0-4 non-league season left a lot of unsolved questions and doubts.
But this is league and North County is 2-0, relying on a defense that has allowed just 13 points in its first two Pacific Division games.
The Condors have been a different team on Friday night, having allowed 29 points in three games, as opposed to 122 in three Saturday games.
A coincidence?
Some of it has to do with putting Jordan Graves behind center. He's making plays with his arm and legs. A lot of it is the maturation of the Condors defense.
The Grizzlies are going in the opposite direction. After a promising 3-0 non-league start, they have dropped three straight, having given up 120 points in three league games
