Monterey-San Benito football

Friday's game
Monterey (1-4) at San Benito (3-2), 7:30 p.m.
The defending CCS Division I champion Balers are reeling a little bit with two straight losses while Monterey is searching for answers.
Akili Jones went over 100 yards rushing for the third time this year and has nearly 800 yards in the Toreadores first five games.
Having compiled nearly 70 percent of Monterey's rushing yards, Jones has scored the teams last four touchdowns.
The fourth quarter has been troublesome for Monterey, who has been outscored 50-6. Defensively, it is wearing down in the second half.
San Benito was down by one point last week in the fourth quarter before being outscored 22-0 in the final 12 minutes.
Mid season losing streaks are nothing new to the Balers, who endured a three-game skid last season and two game losing streaks in 2013 and 2012.
The end result was two CCS titles and a finals appearance.
