 Defense dictated the tempo for Alisal in its Pacific Division opening win while defense decided the outcome in the Mustangs league opening triumph.
 The Trojans offense was balanced last week as quarterback Raul Garnica tossed a pair of touchdown passes in building a four touchdown lead over previously unbeaten Pajaro.
 Gilroy's defense, which allowed just three points in the fourth quarter in non-league play this season, came up with a big stand in the final minutes in defeating Watsonville.
 Alisal needs to be aware of tailback David Munoz, who led the Mustangs in rushing last season and leads the team in touchdowns this fall.

 In their two wins, the Trojans have outscored the opposition 19-0 in the third quarter. But in their three losses, they've been outscored 28-8.
