 A husband-wife team will form the coaching staff at Notre Dame this fall, beginning tonight when the defending CCS Division V champions host Soquel.
 After three years as a junior varsity coach, Veronica Companion will join her husband Jason on the varsity level.
While graduation stripped Notre Dame of three starters, Nikki DeSerpa might be the most dynamic hitter at the net this fall in the county.
 Soquel, who fell to the Spirits in three games in a non-league match last year, shared the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League title, reaching the CCS Division IV semifinals.
 The Knights have two powerful outside hitters in Camry Rocha and sophomore Maggie Walters, an all-leaguer last year as a freshman.
