Not only are the Condors looking for their first win of the season, but they're also searching for their first points, having been outscored 71-0 in two games.
Golden Valley snapped a 15-game losing streak last week with a 30-20 win over Livermore and has scored 70 points on the season.
The two teams have met four times since 2004 with the Cougars winning three of those four games, including a 44-37 decision in the last meeting in 2009 in Merced.
North County's defense looked much better last week, allowing just two touchdowns in the first half against Gonzales, and a late field goal, while creating two turnovers.
Until the offense finds itself, the Condors defense will have to carry the team. But it's spent a lot of time on the field through two games.
