If only Vernon Calhoun could bottle what he just witnessed.
The Mariners set a new single-game scoring record on Friday with a 57 point explosion.
That's more points than Marina produced in all of last season in going winless.
So is the program back on track with two straight wins?
Well, if you ask Calhoun, he believes his team should be 3-0, citing the 150 yards in penalties in a season opening loss.
While Marina was 0-10 last year, it lost three games by three points or less.
In other words, it wasn't that far away from being competitive.
While I wouldn't start making playoff plans, the Mariners are building confidence and trust in the system and each other.
Oh, it's still a work in progress, on the job training, and learning on the fly for Marina. Obstacles remain in its path.
Seeing the results, though, makes a big difference when buying into a philosophy.
