Earlybird Invite

Five state ranked cross country teams in their respective divisions -- including King City -- will get reacquainted with the Toro Park course Saturday at the 21st Earlybird Invitational.
Despite the loss of three marquee runners, the defending Mission Trail Athletic League and Central Coast Section Division IV champion Mustangs are ranked No. 7 in the state.
Inheriting the mantle for King City will be junior Ramon Munoz while teammate Ricardo Lizzardi is back for his senior year.
A few names to keep an eye on in their respective divisions include Raul Barraza of North Salinas, Owen Ibarra of North County and Jaime Garcia of Greenfield.
State power Madera South is chasing a fifth straight boys team title.
Defending girls champion Aptos returns six runners from last season's record setting team. Reigning MTAL champion Jocelyn Sosa of Greenfield is back along with Faith Mora of North County.
