Alvarez-North County football

Saturday's game
Alvarez (1-2) at North County (0-3), 2 p.m.
It hasn't been the start head coach Sean Gomes envisioned when he came back to rescue the Condors program for a second tour of duty.
Then again, when a program is dealing with the coaching carousal that North County has had for the last eight years, instability runs to the forefront.
While it took 12 quarters, the Condors finally got their first points of the season in last week's loss to Golden Valley.
That's more points than Alvarez mustered in being blanked by unbeaten Burlingame.
The Eagles have not started well in all three games, having been outscored 27-6 in the first quarter.  By comparison, last year the opening 12 minutes was their highest scoring quarter.
Alvarez's defense is creating opportunities with turnovers this fall. Alan Llamas has recorded three sacks.
It's been 22 games since Alvarez has played a game on natural grass.
