Greenfield (1-9, 1-6)
The biggest issue for Greenfield last year was depth.
When eight players are going both ways, opponents are going to wear you down.
Five straight winning seasons -- including three playoff appearances and a school record nine wins -- have been followed by three straight losing seasons.
The numbers are up this fall as Greenfield has 38 players. And a good portion of those players have tasted success as last year's JV team went 7-2.
Yet, what really has changed is the talent pool. It's improved.
The Bruins have a tailback in Anthony Leon with breakaway speed, and some size in the trenches, anchored by Ernie Chan.
During Greenfield's streak of winning seasons, it had a tailback rush for over 1,000 yards in each of those seasons.
A coincidence?
One of those tailbacks was Leon's older brother.
Slow starts crippled Greenfield last year, who was outscored 213-40 in the first half. That has to change for this team to turn the corner.
