Several familiar local names from the distance world will get reacquainted Saturday with the sixth annual Salinas Valley Half Marathon.
Headlining the men's list is NCAA 1,500 All-American Cristian Soratos. The former Salinas High and Hartnell College standout set numerous school records this past spring at Montana State.
Soratos will be in fast company as defending champion and former King City and Hartnell standout Jesus Campos is back along with recent King City graduate and state qualifier Edgar Bonilla.
Former North County and Hartnell College distance ace Monica Jo Nicholson is back to defend her title along with last year's runner up Brandi Hobson, who prepped at North Salinas.
The 13.1 mile event will begin at 8 a.m. at the Soledad Mission and will finish at Pessagno Winery.
