Morgan Koucky’s summer just got sweater.
Having just returned from being a part of two lacrosse club title teams 3,000 miles apart in a span of 24 hours, the Carmel sniper has been accepted into the Naval Academy, where he will play lacrosse in 2017.An All-American last spring, Koucky was fifth in the nation in goals and assists with 113, leading the Padres to a second consecutive league title with a left-handed shot that’s been clocked at 103 mph.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound incoming senior was part of the Alcatraz Outlaws Club that won the National Gait Cup in Gettysburg, then flew back to San Francisco to help a San Jose Club team go undefeated in the Battle of the Bay tournament.
Koucky recently was part of the United States Box silver medal winning team at the Calgary Canada Day Tournament, where he was named the Most Valuable Player for the Cali-Lax team.
