Alex Pingree

For the second straight year, Alex Pingree was named to the Big West Conference all-academic softball team for the University of Santa Barbara.

Despite having her season cut short by a lingering hip injury, the right-handed hurler posted a 7-7 record for the Gauchos, throwing 100 innings in 25 appearances.
Pingree was The Herald’s Softball Player of the Year in 2012, setting numerous pitching records in hurling Santa Catalina to its first and only Central Coast Section Division III title.
