Hartnell Hall of Fame

Eight former Hartnell College athletes, two coaches and one team will be inducted this year into the schools athletic Hall of Fame.
Among those chosen were former North Salinas standout Joe Hicks, who stared in football and track at Hartnell, and Alisal graduate Ticka Simon, who lettered in volleyball and track.
 Joining the pair is baseball sluggers Danny Camacho and Dennis Gilbert, Alton Gerard, who played football, basketball sharpshooter Bob Steinbach, volleyball standout Denna Patton and soccer wizard Ismael Ybarra.
 Inducted as coaches included Gary Shaw, who won over 30 men's track titles at Hartnell, and served as a cross country coach and an assistant football coach.
 Marv Grim, who won over 100 games as a football coach for the Panthers, and served as the school's athletic director, is also headed to the hall along with the 1967 Hartnell football team.
 Entering the Hartnell Hall of Fame as volunteers/supporters included Richard Andre, Ed Heinecke and Reggie Kenyon.
