Candidates for Athlete of the Year

Julianna House, Carmel

 A four-year starter in volleyball for the Mission Trail Athletic League champions, House earned all-county honors last fall as a libero after recording 450 digs and 53 service aces.
House was a two-time member of The Herald’s All-County volleyball team and finished with 1,173 career digs and 165 service aces.
Her instincts in volleyball translated to the soccer field, where she was a three-year starter between the pipes for the Padres, averaging 9.1 saves a game, earning MTAL first team honors.
House, who sports a 4.4 GPA, was also a four year Central Coast Section qualifier in diving for Carmel, finishing in the top three in the MTAL in each of her four seasons.
