Throwers meet at Hartnell

The inaugural Pat Young Throwers Classic will take center stage on Sunday at Hartnell College, starting with the men's hammer throw at 10 a.m.
Young was a long-time Hartnell College throwers coach, who passed away last summer.
Events on the agenda will include the men's and women's hammer throw, javelin, shot put and discus.
Hartnell has a world renown reputation as a discus haven for throwers with its traditional swirling afternoon winds, having seen over 20 world bests accomplished to date in the past.
Some of the best discus throwers in the world have graced the grounds of Hartnell in previous meets, with three national records from other countries having been attained.
The original meet had a national reputation and ran for over 20 years before it was halted three years ago. The meet is sanctioned by the USATF.
