Soledad softball

Turning around a program that has never posted a winning season, or was winless in league play last year -- doesn't happen overnight.
 Or does it?
Not only has Soledad assured itself of its first ever winning season, but it rewrote the single-season school record for wins this year with 13.
Could the Aztecs be playoff bound?
Well, if Soledad runs the table and wins its final two games, it would lock up third place. Last year  four teams from the Mission Trail Athletic League went to the playoffs.
This is one of the better spring stories of the year, considering just two seniors fill out a youthful roster that includes freshman pitcher Elena Meza.
Soledad has wins this year over perennial playoff teams Stevenson and Carmel while giving Santa Catalina all it could handle before falling 7-6.
Ashley Sanchez has been a leader at the plate along with Alexys Gonzalez and Destiny Ramirez. The Aztecs are also 4-1 in games decided by one run or less.
