Robert Wayman

The former Salinas High and Hartnell College shortstop made a sufficient impact during the St. John’s baseball teams ride to their record eighth Big East Championship.
Wayman has not committed an error this year in 120 chances at second base -- or 39 straight games.
At the plate, the senior has caught fire in the second half, raising his batting average to .297 for the Red Storm, who are competing in the NCAA Regional Tournament.
Wayman hit .500 in the Big East Conference Tournament for St. John’s, scoring three runs while driving in two.
He has scored 20 runs in 101 official at bats this spring with one homer and 10 runs batted in.
