Notre Dame-Scotts Valley softball

Central Coast Section Division III finals
Saturday's game
No. 3 Scotts Valley (23-5) vs. No. 1 Notre Dame (24-5), 10 a.m. at PAL Stadium, San Jose.
Call it the redemption tour for Notre Dame.
The reigning two-time Central Coast Section Division III champions have already avenged one loss this year with a 1-0 win over Notre Dame-Belmont in Tuesday's semifinals.
Now comes Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League champion Scotts Valley, who sent the Spirits to their worst loss of the season back on March 11 with an 8-1 win.
The Falcons have scored 19 runs in 12 innings in the postseason, holding off Santa Catalina 8-6 on Wednesday for their 12th straight win.
The Gabilan Division co-champion Spirits, who are chasing a CCS record 15th softball title, have won eight straight postseason games.
Freshman pitcher Vanessa Gonzalez has yet to allow a run in the postseason for Notre Dame, having tossed nine shutouts this spring.
Marisa Given has had a hit in 20 of the 22 games she's played in this year for the Spirits, with 19 of her 46 hits going for extra bases.
Not only is Sarah Reyes the Falcons ace in the circle, but the leadoff hitter also leads the team in hits. Teammate Sigrid Halthrop has ripped seven home runs.
