The former three-sport star at Carmel is improving his draft stock for Major League Baseball's June Amateur draft, hitting a team high .349 for the Cal baseball team.
Pearson, who missed 19 games with a broken right hand this season, has sizzled at the plate since returning, raising his average nearly 40 points.
The junior slugger has four homers and 20 runs batted in, with 13 of his 30 hits going for extra bases. Pearson has been flawless in the outfield in 48 chances.
Drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays out of high school, Pearson was The Herald's Athlete of the Year as a junior and senior.
