Alvarez-Watsonville softball

 The sequel.
This time there's a little more at stake.
Such as a potential league championship in the Pacific Division.
While this is uncharted waters for Alvarez, it has been a magical season, having rewritten the single season school record for wins with 18 and counting.
The Wildcatz have not tasted defeat since falling 2-1 to Alvarez on April 10.
The result has both teams locked in a tie at the top of the Pacific Division with two games left. The script couldn't have been written better.
Watsonville has relied on the arm of Samantha Sakai all season while the offense has produced 10 or more runs in four of its last six wins.
Angelina Ruiz has continued to swing a hot bat for the Eagles while Viviana Soria has been clutch at the plate, leading the team in runs batted in.
Pitching has also been a strength for Alvarez with Irene Villa and Giana Deleon taking turns in the circle shutting down opponents.
Alvarez is undefeated in league play this season on the road while Watsonville is undefeated in the Pacific Division at home.
