I don't put to much stock into tonight's Top Eight track and field meet at San Jose City College, if for no other reason then the top eight in each event aren't all there.
Still, the meet can be graded as a mid-term to the Central Coast Section finals in six weeks. While no one with title aspirations is peaking tonight, times are beginning to drop and marks climb.
Yet, what a athlete does tonight doesn't dictate what will occur in six weeks. Plus this is not the first time some of these elite athletes have run up against each other this spring.
This will, however, be the site of the CCS trials and finals.
