It's been a quiet 11-2 start for the Aztecs.
Yet, for a program that has won 18 or more games in each of its last five seasons, it's not a surprise.
Of course, we will learn more about Soledad when it returns to Mission Trail Athletic League play on April 14, as it has back-to-back series' with Pacific Grove and Carmel.
Still, the Aztecs are 6-0 in the MTAL, having scored 82 runs in six league games behind reigning league MVP Daniel Farfan, who is swinging a wooden bat this year.
More than half of Nathaniel Villarreal's hits have gone for extra bases while Jordan Morrison leads the team in hits, giving Soledad a potent lineup that includes Joseph Ramirez and Nathan Sosa.
Villarreal is also 4-0 on the mound this spring for Soledad while Farfan has been sharp in his last three outings.
While an argument can be made that Soledad has only beaten two teams with winning records, it is beating the teams it is suppose to.
