San Benito-Notre Dame softball

You can make the argument that these are two of the more prominent programs in the section as well as the state in their respective divisions.
Between Notre Dame and San Benito are 22 Central Coast Section divisional softball titles in the last 20 years.
The Spirits won a CCS record nine straight Division III titles between 1998-2006, while San Benito had its run of eight straight Division I titles snapped last spring in the finals.
The two teams also happen to be league rivals, where 15 of the last 16 league titles have come from either Notre Dame or the Balers.
The first of two head-to-head battles between the only unbeaten teams left in the Gabilan Division is Tuesday at Notre Dame.
The Spirits (13-2) lineup includes two Division I four-year starters in sluggers Marisa Given (bound for Oregon) and Sarah Muzik (Hawaii).
San Benito's (14-3) lineup isn't bad either with Calee Heen, a member of Cal Hi Sports' All-State underclass team as a freshman in 2014.
Pitching has carried San Benito as it has held 10 teams to two runs or less while Spirits freshman hurler Vanessa Gonzales has limited 11 teams to two runs or less with three shutouts.
