Palma track

I wouldn't call having its run of 21 straight dual meet wins snapped last week as a wake up call.
For starters San Benito is talented.
Plus injuries have taken its toll on Palma.
Yet, there was that curiosity to how the Chieftains would respond against Salinas -- arguably its biggest rival, minus two key sprinters.
The Chieftains answered by winning nine events with nine different individuals in a 30-point decision over Salinas.
Another dual meet loss would make chasing a fourth straight Gabilan Division title difficult.
Depth has been a strength for the Chieftains during their run of three straight titles. Depth picked up the team on Wednesday.
With 11 practice days remaining before the Gabilan Division Trials, Palma is starting to get some of its injured athletes back.
Can they get them back in shape?

One sprinter should be back at some point, but another probably out for rest of season. Palma injury during the 4x100 and inability to finish was difference in meet and injuries. San Benito is very good. Palma track should be very strong at least over the next couple years.

....and there were roughly "12 points" building homes in Tijuana with the Edmund Rice Housing Building Mission over Palma's Easter holiday....and a few more distance points were lost due to the injury in the 4x100....hardly time to re-sort the rankings....as John knows, track is about peaking at the right time; not dual streaks....
