Palma-San Benito track

If anyone is going to be a threat to the Chieftains run of supremacy in the Gabilan Division, it will be San Benito -- the last team to beat Palma in a dual meet in 2012.
Palma is the only champion the Gabilan Division has seen since the inception of the league, taking aim this spring at a four-peat as it visits the Balers on Thursday.
A deep sprint core, however, for the Chieftains has been saddled with a pair of injuries, which could force some juggling of events.
Plus Palma has no answer for San Benito junior Shraee Harrison, who recently ran 21.90 in the 200 and 48.93 in the 400 -- both CCS leading times.
The Balers are going to score heavily in the distance events, potentially producing 27 points. Palma will have to answer in the relays and field events, and at least split in the hurdle events.
This is like a throwback meet as San Benito still runs on a dirt track. If it comes down to the 1,600 relay, the anchor leg for Palma will need a sizable lead to hold off Harrison.
