For the second time in as many years, the Monterey Bay League volleyball title comes down to the final match.
Defending champion Palma is back.
The opponent is a familiar rival. But not in volleyball. Until now.
The only meeting between host Salinas and the defending champion Chieftains comes in the season finale on Thursday at 'The Corral'.
The schedule makers got this one right.
Both teams come into the battle with just one league loss.
Palma has rattled off 10 straight wins behind Toby Wisner and Shane Folck. Salinas hasn't tasted defeat in league since dropping a match to Christopher.
Setter Justin Tang has provided precise sets, enabling Tyler Hutchison and Jacob Butorac to put up record breaking numbers at Salinas this spring.
Keep in mind that there is a tournament after the season. While Thursday's winner gather no worse than a share of the title, the tournament winner earns the top seed out of the MBL into the playoffs.
