Monterey-North Salinas softball

At least four teams will make the playoffs out of the Gabilan Division.
North Salinas will likely be one of them. Will Monterey be another?
Pushed into the Gabilan Division this spring after winning the Pacific last year, the Toreadores are in the postseason conversation -- despite seven freshmen in the starting lineup.
Just one game separates four teams in the Gabilan Division for third place.
The fact that Monterey will have to play three of its final five games on the road -- including today at North Salinas -- isn't a bad thing.
All of the Toreadores league wins this spring have come on the road. In fact, Monterey is 8-3 on the road this year, 4-6 at home.
Gina Bruno and freshman Catie Montante have carried potent bats all spring with four homers while Bruno has driven in 27 runs in 22 games.
After a blistering 15-2 start, North Salinas has dropped four straight games. It does have a 6-5 win over the Toreadores back on March 31 -- with four of those runs coming in the sixth inning.
