MBL swimming

Will there be a changing of the guard this year at Saturday's Monterey Bay League swimming finals?
Salinas went undefeated in dual meet competition this spring in the boys behind defending 50 free and 100 free league champion Nic Clark.
Depth appears to be a strength for the Cowboys, who will score heavily in a lot of events, and will be the favorites in the relays.
And while the Salinas girls program suffered one loss, that came in the first meet when a handful of swimmers were missing.
Devon Cooper is the defending MBL champion in diving and a threat in the 50 free for the Cowboys while teammate Miranda Wilson has been dominate in the 200 IM an 100 back.
Host Christopher won the boys and girls team titles last year based on overall results.
A threat to Clark in the 50 free is Monterey's Noah Gomes, who finished second to him last spring. Gomes is the defending league champion in the 100 back.
Alvarez's Toby Macabugao is the defending league champion in the 200 IM and 100 breast.
Two other names to watch include Seaside's Seabastian Ziolkowski in the 50 free and 100 fly and Lexi Valero in the 100 fly.

Christopher didn't win team overall last year,it was Salinas High. Any ways Salinas High already beat Christopher this year so it shouldn't be an issue for the Cowboys to bring home the championship again this year.
