Not that you need a reason to watch the NFL draft, but at least two former local lineman will be drafted either Friday or Saturday.
Both Terry Poole and Tyler Sambrailo are projected to go anywhere between the third and sixth rounds of the NFL draft.
Poole, a former Seaside High and MPC standout, spent the last two years at San Diego State as a 6-6, 315-pound offensive tackle.
The 6-5, 311-pound Sambrailo played at St. Francis Catholic in Watsonville before spending the last four years at Colorado State as an offensive tackle.
Both took part in February in the NFL combines.
If a kicker is drafted, it will likely come in the late rounds. Carmel product Andrew Franks is on a short list, having had private workouts with four NFL teams.
If he's not drafted, Franks will likely be signed as an undrafted free agent when the draft concludes on Saturday.

I think Ty is for sure going to be drafted. Probably in the 4-5 rounds range maybe late 3rd. If Terry gets drafted more than likely in 6-7 round range. Possibly undrafted which isnt so bad because he will get signed and then he can choose where he wants to go. Either way both of these guys have a realistic chance at being on an NFL roster for the next few years. As for Franks ehh might be hard for him to make a team. I highly doubt he gets drafted and there is a good chance he doesnt even get brought into a camp. I cant even find his name in any kicker rankings.
