Christopher-Monterey baseball

You can make an argument that the playoffs have started early for Monterey.
If the season ended today, the Toreadores -- who host Christopher this afternoon -- sit in fifth place in the Gabilan Division, holding a slight one-game lead for the final playoff spot.
Five teams out of the Gabilan Division earn an automatic spot into the CCS playoffs.
Monterey has made 24 straight postseason appearances.
The Toreadores pitching staff has looked like a playoff caliber unit for most of the year behind aces Gavin Jarvis and Digger Gugale.
While the bats have looked better at home with Carter Aldrete and Anthony Russo heating up, they have been in a collective season long slump on the road.
Fortunately, four of the Toreadores final seven games are at home.
Monterey has won its last three games at home and is undefeated this year at Sollecito Park when playing in the afternoon.
