Annie Aldrete

 The former Santa Catalina catcher is putting up All-American type numbers this spring for the nationally ranked Tennessee softball team.

  Last year’s NCAA Softball Freshman of the Year, Aldrete has hit a team high 12 homers. She also leads the Vols in runs batted in (39) and walks (22).
 Named a team captain this year, Aldrete has scored 34 runs in 40 games. Of her 38 hits, 19 have been for extra bases.
 Aldrete, The Herald’s Softball Player of the Year in 2013, has committed just two errors in 215 chances behind the plate.
