Pacific Grove-Carmel baseball

There will be no second meeting over the course of 48 hours. Instead, the two peninsula powers will not play again until April 24.
Which only enhances today's battle of unbeatens in the Mission Trail Athletic League.
The first two-thirds of the MTAL season has each team playing each other in back-to-back games in home-and-away series'.
 Accept this one.
 A coincidence?
The defending MTAL champion Padres have won eight straight games since a season opening loss, including their first six league games.
Pacific Grove's pitching staff has not allowed a run in their last 14 innings while Carmel has scored 83 runs during its eight game winning streak.
Carmel is a home-run hitters park when the prevailing peninsula winds kick up by the first pitch.
Lennie Rodriguez has heated up in the spring with five homers for the Padres while John Stivers is coming off a three-hit effort, knocking in the game winning run on Thursday.
Anthony Coppla and Long Beach State bound Chris Fife have gotten hot at the plate of late for the Breakers while Nic Boatman pitched a gem on Thursday.
